A wisdom tooth is extracted to correct an actual problem or to prevent problems that may come up in the future. When wisdom teeth come in, a number of problems can occur:

Your jaw may not be large enough to accommodate them, and they may become impacted and unable to break through your gums.
Your wisdom teeth may break partway through your gums, causing a flap of gum tissue to grow over them. Food and germs can become trapped under the flap and cause your gums to become red, swollen, and painful. These are signs of infection.
More serious problems can develop from impacted teeth, such as infection, damage to other teeth and bone, or the development of a cyst.

One or more of your wisdom teeth may come in at an awkward angle, with the top of the tooth facing forward, backward, or to either side.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a purified protein that can temporarily reduce moderate to severe frown lines between the brows. Botox can also be used to treat crows feet, forehead lines and wrinkles, and several other lines and wrinkles on the lower face as well.

Lately Botox has been used in conjunction with fillers (ex. Juvederm, Radiesse) in order to enhance their effectiveness and prolong the duration.

The best candidates are patients between the ages of 18 and 65 years old. It works by blocking nerve impulses, which reduces the movement of those particular muscles. With less movement, the skin surface gradually smoothes out and the frown lines begin to fade.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a short and minimally invasive treatment that requires no downtime. During the procedure, very low doses of BOTOX® Cosmetic are administered by way of small injections directly into the muscles that cause the frown lines between the brows and above the brows as well as the crow’s feet around the eyes. It can also reduce lines on the forehead and the bunny lines on the nose.
